During winter the take-off areas are limited to the western launch sites in the safe direction away from the ski slopes, but still offering all air sports enthusiasts an opportunity to get airborne in this time of the year. Official flight training, tuition and passenger flights / tandem flights are only offered during summer season from the beginning of May until the end of September.
The west launch site at 1500m, situated next to the cozy mountain restaurant "Bärenhütte" is easily accessible by our cable car. For those pilots who want to take off even higher there is a west starting launch at 1700m - next to the top station of the chairlift "Gipfellift".
As safety is taken very seriously at our Unterberg mountain – for security reasons during the winter and while skiing operation - any take offs from and over ski slopes are not permitted! The western take off sites can only be limitedly maintained because of the snow cover.
