The tour to Stodertaler Via Ferrata starts at Prielschutzhaus parking, one kilometre from the village centre. It is a 30 minute-walk along a forest road until you reach the Prielschutzhaus via ferrata, then take trail no 201 to Klinserscharte and to the actual start through the north side at the crossing.
And then: 200 metre up Spitzmauer! The via ferrata is secured all the way! The way down is a regular trail starting half an hour below the summit.
Long, steep and difficult - Bert-Rinesch Via Ferrata is a challenge for every climber. One of the biggest via ferratas of the Eastern Alps starts at 604 m and ends at 2,457 m above sea level.
Starting at Johannishof parking in Hinterstoder a trail leads to Prielschutzhaus in 21/2 hours. The actual start of the via ferrata is another hour on a normal trail. The way back takes two hours via Westkamm, Brotfallscharte and Schneefeld.
