The Most Beautiful Way to Explore Kasberg!

Snow-covered forests. Glistening winter sun. Fantastic views to white mountain tops. There is a reason why Kasberg is a popular snowshoeing destination – the perfect alternative to skiing and snowboarding!


Kasberg ski resort boasts three waymarked snowshoeing trails of varying degrees of difficulty. Those who would like to know more about the region, should join a guided hike!

Snowshoe trails at Kasberg

Spitzplaneck-Summit-Trail

  • Duration: 1 to 1.5 hrs.
  • Difficulty: intermediate to difficult
  • Huts: Kasbergalm, Sepp-Huber-Hütte
  • Vantage points: Kasbergalm, Spitzplaneck, Herrenspitz, Ochsenboden-Berg

 

Route: snowshoe hike starts at the top station of the12er-gondola. From there you hike to Pumpenhaus, the reservoir and Hausboden. You then shortly reach Spitzplaneck (piste no. 13) leading to the summit on the right edge of the piste.  A path connects Herrenspitz Ochsenboden-Mountain and then back to the start.

Höhenloipen-Trail

High-Altitude Trail

  • Duration: 1 hr.
  • Difficulty: easy
  • Huts: Kasbergalm, Sepp-Huber-Hütte
  • Vantage points: Rastplatz "Blick ins Almtal“, Rastplatz „Seeblick“

 

Route: the high-altitude trail starts at the top station of the 12er-gondola. Before reaching Pumpenhaus branch off towards the forest; this path leads to the reservoir and Hausboden; make a U-turn there and hike along the piste towards Fun Jet back to the starting point.

Good to know: this route is also suitable for experienced x-country skiers and skaters.

Hochberg-Trail

  • Duration: 1 to 1.5 hrs.
  • Difficulty: intermediate
  • Huts: Sonnalm, Hochberghaus
  • Vantage points: Hochberg Nord

 

Route: start at the top station of the 8er-gondola (A). Then take the winter hiking trail to the bottom station of the 12er-gondola (B) towards Hochberghaus. Branch off at "Sonnenhang" to the vantage point Nord-Berg. Back to Hochberghaus on the skidoo trail.
